POLAROID / FUJI UPDATE

As the old saying goes, when one door closes another opens. Polaroid has recently announced the end of production of all films including 669. The good news is that Fuji makes a replacement film, FP100C, that works with all Daylabs. The process of transfer and lifts is similar to Polaroid with several exceptions and benefits as we will be describing in the next few days. The best news is that Fuji is in this for the long term and the colors are spectacular. Daylab recommends that you start moving to Fuji film as soon as possible. We will miss Polaroid, but we are entering the exciting new world of Fuji. Save your 669 film for the few unique images that Fuji cannot duplicate. If properly stored, 669 can last years. 

669 REPLACEMENT FILM

WHILE WE BELIEVE THAT ONCE USERS SWITCH TO FUJI FP100C THEY WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS, THERE WILL REMAIN A FEW APPLICATIONS FOR 669. LIKE ANY WELL RUN COMPANY, FUJI MAKES DECISIONS ON NEW PRODUCTS BASED ON DEMAND. IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL IF EVERYONE COULD SEND AN EMAIL TO SALES@DAYLAB.COM WITH A PROJECT OF YEARLY USAGE IF FUJI WAS TO MAKE A 669 REPLACEMENT FILM. SIMPLY LABEL THE EMAIL “FILM USAGE PROJECTIONS” AND INCLUDE YOUR NAME, ADDRESS AND PROJECTED YEARLY USAGE. WE WILL THEN COLLECT THIS INFORMATION AND FORWARD IT TO FUJI. IF WE GENERATE ENOUGH PROJECTED DEMAND, IT MIGHT CONVINCE FUJI TO JUSTIFY THE INVESTMENT NECESSARY.  THE SOONER WE GET THIS INFORMATION, THE BETTER CHANCE WE HAVE. PLEASE CONTACT FELLOW USERS TO HAVE THEM ADD THEIR NUMBERS TO OUR PROJECTIONS.
